This week Socious released a valuable new member engagement resource for member-based organizations. This series of three videos will walk association executives and leaders at other organizations through their own member engagement initiatives and provide them with actionable tips to improve.
“There’s a lot of information on member engagement floating around the association industry,” said Joshua Paul, Socious’s VP of Marketing and Strategy. “But we noticed that there was a shortage of comprehensive resources that walk members through problems, strategy creation, and improvement processes.”
To fill this big gap for membership professionals, Josh and the team here at Socious went through an extensive research process to create a framework for improving associations’ engagement initiatives. Instead of creating another ebook or guide, however, we decided to make the information easier to digest with a video series.
Designed to provide actionable information for executives, staff, and volunteers, each video in the series includes not only proven research, but examples that Socious has compiled through years of serving the association industry.
To help viewers focus on the most important concepts, videos in the 3-part series focus on different aspects of member engagement.
Video #1) Addressing Engagement Problems
Whether you’re tracking member engagement or not, there is interaction between your members or customers and your organization. The first video in our resource series focuses on problems that your organization could have with getting members to interact with the organization. It delves into small, micro engagement issues as well as larger, potentially systemic macro problems that may be hurting your member retention and revenue.
Organizations can use the advice in the video to tackle their unique engagement problems to lead members to higher participation rates. Higher member interaction could lead to greater satisfaction, renewals, and referrals.
Video #2) Developing a Long-Term Member Engagement Strategy
Since tackling member engagement problems only deals with your current situation, the second video takes everything a step further. It helps you prepare for the future with a long-term engagement strategy. Developing a lasting strategy takes only six steps, and by following the framework in the video associations can create a plan that consistently brings results over time.
The breakthrough concept behind the process is that it results in adaptable strategies. Your plan won’t become obsolete as technology, member needs, or your association’s focus changes. Instead, you’ll develop a fully adjustable strategy that cuts down on your future workload while delivering all the guidance you need to increase engagement.
Video #3) Evaluating Your Strategies
Both long- and short-term engagement strategies should be periodically evaluated to determine which efforts are successful and which are not. The final video in our resource series delves into three ways to evaluate your strategies and determine if you need to make any changes.
The secret to the efficacy of our three evaluation methods is their ability to be combined into a single, overarching view. If necessary, each method does stand alone, but for a truly comprehensive analysis of your strategies, use the techniques together. You’ll get more quantitative and qualitative data that will help you make better-informed decisions about your strategies.
